Children and young people’s services

The benefits of well-planned and implemented services for children and young people are immediate and long-term. Effective use of today’s public funds can bring about savings in the future. Our approach, aligned with the Every Child Matters agenda, is to bring together expertise and insight from across a wide range of policy areas to help improve the planning of delivery of services to children, young people and their families, particularly those from the most socially excluded families.
Examples of recent projects include:
- undertaking a value for money study of the Young People’s Facilities and Services Fund
(YPFSF) in Ireland; - developing models for health service provision within Children Centres; and
- supporting local commissioners on measuring need for young people’s substance misuse services.
