Crime & Justice

National policy makers and local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) want to understand what works. Our national and local evaluations are contributing to this evidence base and include evaluations of the Reducing Burglary Initiative (commissioned by the Home Office), Street Wardens (commissioned by the Department for Local Government and Communities), Gate It! (commissioned by Groundwork UK) and projects to reduce anti-social behaviour (commissioned by a number of CDRPs).
As well as helping to generate the evidence base we also help national policy makers and local partnerships make the best use of it. For instance, we recently worked with CDRPs to develop a tool to bring together local crime data. This, together with findings from national research created a detailed neighbourhood crime and disorder profile which is being used to map crime levels by area and to allocate resources based on this.
